Plot Of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke

The story centres on Somya and Kapil, a middle-class couple in Indore dreaming of owning their own home through the Indian government’s Awas Yojna scheme. Kapil is a yoga instructor, while Somya works as a teacher. They live in a joint family with Kapil’s parents, uncle, and aunt. They sacrifice their room for their relatives, causing friction, especially with Kapil’s aunt, who disapproves of Somya due to their different backgrounds.

Somya and Kapil find a house they like but are disappointed due to the high market price. Later, they discover the Awas Yojna, but face obstacles when Kapil argues with a government employee during their inquiry.

An office peon, who also brokers deals, advises them on the scheme’s requirements. To qualify, either Kapil must forfeit his inheritance or Somya must divorce him to be considered a single applicant. They fake a divorce, leading to humorous misunderstandings among family and friends.

However, their plan falls apart when the broker is caught, causing tension between Somya and Kapil. Amidst the chaos, Kapil’s aunt falls ill, needing a liver transplant. This changes their perspective as they realise the importance of family.

Somya receives the house papers but realizes family matters more. They gift the house to a security guard in need and remarry, appreciating their renewed bond and happy life together.
