Fantasy and mystical web series have a completely separate and dedicated fanbase and The Witcher: Blood Origin doesn’t require any introduction. With the first season of the show releasing in December 2019, fans have been awaiting the release of the second season ever since.
With the show getting a prequel, Blood Origin that released on Netflix on December 25, 2022, the fans are now confused about a new season. Will there be a new season down the road?

Since the show hasn’t been confirmed for a second season yet, it is extremely difficult to pinpoint what the plot of the show will be about.
With Blood Origin narrating the story of the very first Witcher and what went into the conjunction of the different spheres, it is quite confusing to pinpoint what exactly will be the plotline for the second season, if one is released eventually.
Blood Origin was initially announced as a limited mini-series. This means that the show comes with a few predetermined episodes. This also indicates that the show will be a standalone one by itself with no cliffhangers.
Does it mean that a Season 2 won’t follow? Well, that’s something we’d have to wait for confirmation. There is no way to say whether or not a new season of the show will be released or not.
With several other shows (eg: Big Little Lies) released as mini-series, they were soon followed by a brand new season. So, there are chances that something similar might happen with The Witcher too.
