The Wheel Of Time Season 3

The Wheel of Time season 2 just wrapped up, and fans will be thrilled to hear that a third season is indeed in the works. The show, which streams on Prime Video, was renewed for its third instalment even before the second season was aired.

Adapted from Robert Jordan’s novels, the show was created by Rafe Judkins. The first season was a hit, but the second season took things up a notch, earning praise from critics. The engaging finale of the second season has left fans eagerly anticipating what’s to come.

The Wheel of Time season 3 will draw inspiration from the fourth book, The Shadow Rising. While we await more news updates for season 3, let’s delve into the details we already know.

When is The Wheel of Time season 3 releasing?

Even before the second season hit our screens, The Wheel of Time secured a green light for a third instalment. Prime Video was announced in July 2023, just a month before the debut of the second season.

The exciting news came during Amazon’s Comic-Con presentation, where showrunner Rafe Judkins shared insights on the renewal.

Despite the prolonged production process for season 3, details on the release date are still under wraps. However, fans can rejoice knowing that filming wrapped up in March 2024. Considering this timeline, it’s safe to assume that Wheel of Time season 3 is likely to arrive at the end of 2024.

What to expect from The Wheel of Time season 3?

The storyline for The Wheel of Time season 3 will be based on the fourth book, The Shadow Rising. This decision raises questions about whether the show will skip over book 3, The Dragon Reborn, or incorporate elements of it into the upcoming season.

In The Shadow Rising, we follow Egwene, Rand, and Mat as they journey to the Aiel Waste, while Perrin returns to the Two Rivers. The revelation that Rand is identified as the Car’a’carn by Aviendha of the Aiel suggests that the Aiel Waste will likely be his next destination.

Regarding the antagonist, the final scene of The Wheel of Time season 2 introduced Lanfear confronting Moghedien. Portrayed by Laia Costa, this Dreamwalking channeler seems to be a threat because she can walk in dreams. Also, Moghedien says that before he died, Ishamael let out all the other Forsaken. This means the main characters will likely have to deal with many powerful villains in the next season.

Who is cast in The Wheel of Time season 3?

One of the best parts about The Wheel of Time is its amazing cast. Most of the main actors from the second season will likely come back for the third one.

For Season 3, we can expect to see the following actors:

  • Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred
  • Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor
  • Álvaro Morte as Logain Ablar
  • Jennifer Cheon Garcia as Leane Sharif
  • Sophie Okonedo as Siuan Sanche
  • Laia Costa as Moghedien
  • Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran
  • Guy Roberts as Uno Nomesta
