With Jamie Dornan confirmed to appear on the show, it is going to be quite interesting to see how things pan out in the future. The show is an adaptation of the Nordic series “Twin,” written by Kristoffer Metcalfe.

When is The Undertow Releasing?

With all things confirmed about the series, the fans seem to be quite intrigued by the potential plot of the show. At this point, it is impossible to depict when the series will hit the streaming platform.

Some of the rumours suggest that the filming for The Undertow will take place sometime in 2024. Whether or not filming is already underway remains a mystery. The showrunners had previously confirmed that the filming for the show would be done in the Highlands and the Isle of Mull, Scotland.

So, if things go as planned and filming is wrapped by the end of 2024 or early 2025, there are high chance that the show could be released in 2025.

What can we expect from The Undertow?

The Undertow’s plot is heavily influenced by the Nordic series, Twin. So, if you have watched it already, you more or less have an overview of what you can expect from the upcoming series.

It follows the life of Nicola, who is married to Adam but they are in a loveless marriage, tied due to obligations. However, things take a turn for the worse when Adam’s twin brother decides to make a return to the picture. 

On a fateful day, Adam meets with an accident and succumbs to his injuries. Taking this as an opportunity, Nicola and Lee decide to chalk a plan to portray that Lee died in the accident instead of Adam. Once the police are convinced, Lee will take his brother’s place and live his life as Adam.

Despite their plan looking seemingly foolproof, things do take a turn for the worse as the day progresses. Both Lee and Nicola find it hard to keep up with their lies. While the two of them also have a hard time denying their feelings for each other, they also need to tread carefully to ensure that they don’t get themselves into any kind of trouble.
