The New Legends of Monkey, a dazzling reimagining of the classic Journey to the West tale, caught people’s attention with its blend of action, humor, and adventure. Sometimes, you do need shows that are a little different and this one ticks off the entire boxes quite well.
The show’s fate currently hangs in balance but that hasn’t stopped the fans from being hopeful about a new season. With that said, we also have to add to this saying that we still don’t seem to have any confirmation regarding the show’s return.

The first two seasons of the show premiered on Netflix and since then, it looks like we have not found any information about the show’s return. The network seems to have shared no updates about the show’s return yet, which is quite disappointing, to say the least.
However, one thing that has left a lot of the fans in a state of panic is the release of the last season in 2020. Given that it has been quite some time since the second season, the only question swirling around in people’s minds is regarding the show’s cancellation.
Whether or not Netflix will renew the show in the future remains a mystery at this point. We also seem to have no update from the creators, which is quite a bummer as well.
The final episode of Season 2 ended with an abrupt ending, leaving a lot of the fans confused. We saw Monkey King struggling to control his immense power, Tripitaka grappling with newfound knowledge of her past, and Sandy confronting his dark side.
Season 3 could delve deeper into these complexities, exploring the consequences of their journeys and the individual growth each character undergoes. Furthermore, the looming threat of the Demon King’s returns remains, hinting at a potential conflict that could test the newfound unity of the group.
The show’s established humor and vibrant world-building will likely continue, offering a captivating blend of action, adventure, and personal growth.
At this point, most of the fans are speculating what could go down in the show in the upcoming seasons. However, because there seems to be little to no information regarding the show’s return, it is pretty much impossible to theorize how the writers would plan out the show next.
Also, until we do get more insights about the next season, what we could do in the meantime is watch the first two seasons and catch up with the episodes and the humorous dialogues.
