Despite being of American origin, Steve-O took birth in London, England. His parents kept his name Stephen Gilchrist Clover at the time of his birth on 13th June 1974. His mother was of Canadian origin and his father had both American and English roots.
The couple stayed in England while his father started to work for Pepsi Cola. At the time when Steve-O was just six months old, he shifted with his family to Brazil as his father got a promotion to the position of president of the same company in the southern part of America.
As he grew up in Brazil, he got a lot of exposure as a youngster to new languages and cultures, and he also mentioned that the first words he learned were in Portuguese. The family then shifted very frequently during the entire young life of Stephen. When he was two years old, his family settled in Venezuela and he began to speak Spanish with great fluency.

He would stay there just for three years because the family again shifted back to England till the time he was 9 years old. After a break of three years, he moved back to Ontario in Canada where he stayed for one year, and then moved back to London again. Now, he was finally able to get back to his roots and pass four years as he attended a high school in England.
After he completed his graduation from the clown college Steve O started to pitch his videos to the producers because he had great determination to make things bigger. Then he met the director, producer, and creator Tremaine who was making attempts to develop a TV show that was based on a stunt along with Johnny Knoxville.
The first season of jackass initially aired just on MTV back in 2000. And then in 2001, he started to perform on his house tour called ‘Steve O don’t try this at home Tour’.
He established himself real quick as a very popular comedian all across the world. In the year 2002, the next TV series finished and the company again went ahead to launch another film.
