The world has completely been overtaken by teen drama programs. Writers and viewers take great pleasure in observing and analyzing how American teenagers navigate their contemporary environment. Nonetheless, a few teen television dramas are incredibly heart-breaking, even if the majority of teen shows tend to be funny or usually light-hearted.
One Of Us Is Lying is one of the best and most recent teen drama mystery programs on Netflix at the moment. The 8th episode of season one of the show, which debuted in October 2021, greatly impacted book readers and drew in a lot of new ones. The program was renewed for a season in January 2022; however, after the second season, the show was canceled. The narrative centers on four survivors from different cliques who cooperate to win each other’s trust to clear their names and find Simon’s killer.
There’s no shortage of shows similar to One Of Us Is Lying for viewers who desire more mystery but are upset with the cancelation of the show.

Though the two shows address different topics, Cruel Summer and One Of Us Is Lying share similarities, such as the risks of child grooming and spousal abuse. A lot of the beautifully timed plot twists and discoveries that take place in series like One Of Us Is Lying are also present in Cruel Summer.
2. Euphoria (2019 –)
Stream on Hulu and Hotstar
One of HBO’s biggest and most well-liked series that is still in production is Euphoria because it focuses on teenage drama and the consequences of these adolescents’ decisions, the show is a lot like One Of Us Is Lying. You’ll see, for example, how similar Addy and Maddy are in that they both have domineering and psychotic boyfriends.
However, what sets Euphoria apart is how it delves into a variety of topics related to modern adolescent life, including sex, drugs, homosexuality, and other related topics. It’s also one of the most relatable and engaging shows on TV right now because all of the characters have flaws.
3. Outer Banks (2020 -)
Stream on Netflix
For good reason, Outer Banks has emerged as one of Netflix’s top teen shows. In the mystery adventure series, a gang of friends searches for a hidden treasure and tries to figure out what happened to John B’s father.
Although Outer Banks doesn’t begin as a murder mystery, it gradually turns into one as more hints regarding John B.’s father’s disappearance are found. The found-family theme is also exploited in many shows, such as One Of Us Is Lying, where the teenagers rely more on each other than on the adults in their lives, especially Outer Banks.
4. Only Murders In The Building (2021 –)
Stream on Hotstar+, Hulu
Only Murders In The Building is not exactly like One Of Us Is Lying since this is a murder thriller that involves humor. The main characters in this story are examining a murder mystery within their apartment building.
The focus of this series is on three individuals who started their podcast while attempting to look into a murder that occurred in their flat. The narrative was explored in a way that was both exciting and entertaining at the same time. You’ll enjoy that as there are a lot of twists and turns along the way.
5. 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020)
Stream on Netflix
Although the subject of 13 Reasons Why has drawn a lot of criticism, the show was revolutionary and earned a sizable fan following during its 4 seasons on Netflix. The show generally included a mystery at its core, with Clay, the protagonist, and his friends fighting desperately to see justice done for Hannah and eventually other characters.
13 Reasons Why and One Of Us Is Lying approach the subject of suicide in very different ways. However, it bears a strong resemblance to the original series as it follows Clay in his investigation into the horrific and hazardous sexual assault taking place on his high school campus.
6. Yellowjackets (2021)
Stream on Hulu and Netflix
Yellowjackets is one of the major thriller series to air in the second half of 2021. Though Yellowjackets centers around two different timeframes, it is quite a bit like One Of Us Is Lying in as it examines teen drama and a lot of secrets and thrills.
In Yellowjackets, the same characters are involved in two distinct timelines. The first takes place in the present, while the second takes place 25 years ago when the Yellowjackets soccer team’s plane crashed and left them stranded in the woods. They concealed what they did on the mountain and turned to evil deeds to survive while in the woods.
7. Nancy Drew (2019-2023)
Stream on HBO Max
One of the most well-known teenage female investigators in popular culture, Nancy Drew received her series on The CW in 2019. In the show, Nancy discovers that her mother’s death has delayed her intentions to attend college, and she and her co-workers end up becoming unintentional witnesses to a crime. By cracking the case, the group becomes closer and goes on numerous paranormal experiences together.
In that, they are both driven to solve the crime they saw, Nancy and Bronwyn from One of Us Is Lying are most similar. To complete the classic clichés of a princess, a criminal, an intellectual, and a jock, both shows include an ensemble cast of youths from various backgrounds.
8. The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window (2022)

She falls hard for the enigmatic new neighbor, whose daughter befriends her right away. On the other hand, the neighbor saw her similarly enigmatic girlfriend killed.
