Samsung has unveiled its latest offerings in the Indian smartphone market – the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G. These new additions to Samsung’s esteemed Galaxy A series are poised to shake up the mid-range segment with their impressive features and competitive pricing.
The Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G, previously introduced in Germany via the Otto website, are now making their debut in India. The launch event, held today, marks Samsung’s strategic move to intensify its presence in the sub-INR 50,000 price category.
According to reports from Fonearena, pricing details for the Galaxy A55 5G start at INR 43,200 for the basic 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant, while the top 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant is priced at INR 47,700.
On the other hand, the Galaxy A35 5G comes with a price tag of INR 34,180 for the base 8GB RAM/128GB storage version, and INR 40,500 for the top 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant.
Both devices are available in a range of appealing colours, including Navy Blue, Ice Blue, Lilac, and Lemon. The specifications unveiled for the German market are expected to mirror those of the Indian variants.
Key features anticipated for the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G include a vibrant 6.6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, supporting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. These smartphones are likely to run on Samsung’s One UI 6 based on the latest Android 14 operating system, with Samsung potentially offering OS updates for 4 years, and security patches for 5 years.
The Galaxy A55 is poised to be equipped with a 50MP primary camera with a sizable 1/1.56-inch sensor, accompanied by a 5MP macro camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfie enthusiasts, the smartphone is expected to boast a 32MP front-facing camera housed within a punch-hole design.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 features a 50MP primary sensor with a 1/1.96-inch size, complemented by a 5MP macro camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. Additionally, the smartphone is equipped with a 13MP selfie camera on the front.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A55 5G is rumoured to be powered by the Exynos 1480 SoC coupled with an AMD Xclipse 530 GPU, while the Galaxy A35 5G may feature an Exynos 1380 SoC along with a Mali-G68 GPU.
With these exciting releases, Samsung aims to solidify its position in the Indian smartphone market, offering consumers cutting-edge technology at competitive prices.
