Rent A Girlfriend Season 3 – Has the New Season Been Confirmed?

When you look at it from the outside, coming across a show’s name as “Rent A Girlfriend” sounds quite vulgar. But you have to realize that the show has one of the biggest followings and viewership. The show’s unique storyline has brought a lot of appreciation and criticism from the audience as well.

While the name doesn’t give it away, Rent a Girlfriend is an anime series, where, as the name suggests, people get to rent their girlfriends based on their likes and dislikes and their type in general.

Most of the viewers who have watched the show have classified the anime as cute yet cringe. But you can’t brush aside the fact that the show has gained a pretty decent following in a short period. We will discuss more on the show in this article.

When is Rent a Girlfriend Season 3 Releasing?

Rent a Girlfriend is an anime series that is inspired by a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima. With the kind of storyline that the show has, it isn’t even a question that it was adapted as a web series.

The first season of the series aired in 2020 and since then the audience has gotten pretty accustomed to the show and the kind of popularity it has gained from the audience. While the third season of the show has been confirmed, there isn’t an official release date yet.

According to Crunchyroll, they officially confirmed that the show is returning in July 2023. But, we’d recommend that you remain skeptical about the dates until the creators share insights on the same.

What is the Expected Plot of Rent a Girlfriend Season 3?

Rent a Girlfriend follows the life of Kazuya Kinoshita, a high school student that uses a dating application to “rent” a girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara. This happens in a fit of rage after he is dumped by his ex-girlfriend.

However, things don’t happen as expected and Kazuya ends up rating Chizuru poorly in the app, which leads her to develop a hatred towards the boy. Soon after, Kazuya gets the news that his grandmother isn’t doing well and to portray that Kazuya is leading the best life, he ends up hiring Chizuru.

The second season witnesses the formation of a stronger bond between Kazuya and Chizuru. The “rent” girlfriend decides to pursue her hobbies and dreams and Kazuya promises her that he would hire her every week to help her out financially.

However, while Chizuru auditions for different shows and movies, she isn’t able to crack any auditions and is left disappointed every time. To cheer her up and make Chizuru’s dream a reality, Kazuya gathers funds and decides to make a movie himself starring Chizuru.

The third season of the anime will most likely pick up where they ended the second season. It’s difficult to assume what the plot would be but we can hope that it will follow what’s written in the manga.

Who will be cast in Rent a Girlfriend Season 3?

With that said, let us talk about the cast. Who will return in the third season? If we follow the standard trend like that in the first and second seasons, we can pretty much hope that the OG cast will make a comeback in the third season as well.

This will include:

  • Shun Horie

  • Sora Amamiya

  • Rie Takahashi

  • Nao Toyama

  • Aoi Yuki

Besides these main characters, we will also have the supporting cast, and new characters might be integrated into the show’s third season too.

Is there a Trailer for Rent a Girlfriend Season 3?

Rent a Girlfriend hasn’t been renewed for a third season yet, so there is no trailer released as well. That said, the first two seasons of the show are hands down one of the most popular ones to date, so what you can do in the meantime is binge-watch all the episodes of the first two seasons.

Once Season 3 is confirmed and an official release date is announced, the creators will also release a trailer for the show.

Where to Watch Rent a Girlfriend Season 3?

Rent a Girlfriend Seasons 1 and 2 are available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Given the fact that most of the anime series, shows and movies are streamed on the platform, we can very much hope that the third season of the show will be released on Crunchyroll as well.

Conclusion

As weird as the name “Rent a Girlfriend” sounds, the show has gained a lot of popularity among the audience until now. With people awaiting more updates surrounding the show’s third season, it looks like the wait is going to be slightly longer than we anticipated. This article gives you a glimpse into all the information you need to know regarding the upcoming season.
