According to reports, it is a contemporary Western romance series, exploring new horizons in the romance genre. This multi-generational family drama takes place on a ranch, boasting a stunning backdrop.

Although Netflix has not yet announced the official release date, they have hinted that Ransom Canyon is coming soon. In 2022, Howe disclosed that the series is in the early stages of development and the team is excited about the project.
Initially, production was slated to start on 12th September, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. However, things didn’t go as planned, mainly due to strikes among actors and writers in Hollywood in 2023. As a result, the team had to postpone filming for several months.
As per reports, the crew resumed shooting on 30th January 2024 and concluded on 27th June 2024. It was shot across various locations including Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas.
Now that the filming is over, we can expect the show to arrive soon as teased by Netflix. It is speculated that the show might release in late 2024, or early 2025.
Ransom Canyon is adapted from Jodi Thomas’ book series of the same name. As per the logline, the show is a blend of family drama and romance. It weaves together the stories of three ranching families against the scenic backdrop of Texas Hill Country.
Amanda Marsalis known for The Umbrella Academy and Ozark will direct the first two episodes. Season 1 is expected to arrive with 10 episodes, each an hour long.
