The tale revolves around the lives of three siblings Kate, Kevin, and Randall. They are known as the “Big Three” and their parents are Rebecca and Jack Pearson. The story takes place in several different time frames including flashbacks to show the family’s past.
Kate and Kevin are two siblings who survived a triplet pregnancy, while their brother Kyle is stillborn. But Jack and Rebecca believed that they were supposed to have three kids. Keeping this in mind, they adopted Randall, an African American child in the white household. Randall was abandoned by his father, William Hill at a fire station.
Jack dies when his kids are just 17. Rebecca then marries Jack’s best friend Miguel. Meanwhile, Randall becomes a successful finance professional and marries Beth, his college classmate. Kevin also becomes a successful actor. After getting diverted from her path Kate pursues a career in music and gets a degree. She also meets her partner Toby in the process.
You will see a lot of flashbacks in the show. These flashbacks are mainly focused on Jack and Rebecca. Overall, this is a pretty unique and interesting story. If you are looking for something new to watch, you can give this show a try.

When the creator of the show, Fogelman was asked why they decided to end This is Us after six seasons, he clarified that the main reason was the planning.
The creator and the screenplay writers knew that they had reached the end of the show. Fogelman, during one of the interviews, even clarified that while they could have extended the show to Season 7 and 8, they didn’t want to because they felt like the show concluded well in Season 6.
They didn’t want to make the show boring because they felt like they didn’t have more stories to tell.
