Will Death Note season 2 ever happen?
Despite premiering more than a decade ago, “Death Note” continues to be popular among anime fans. However, there has been no official announcement regarding a second season.
The 37-episode anime covered the content presented in the original 12-volume manga series. Although there were some changes made during the adaptation process, the overall plot followed the narrative outlined in the manga, ending in a similar conclusion.
The major hurdle lies in the fact that both Light and L, the lead characters, meet their demise before the series concludes. Therefore, a new season of “Death Note” would call for an entirely fresh storyline featuring a new cast of characters.
Why is Death Note banned?
Death Note is banned in China due to its graphic content. In the early months of 2005, the manga resulted in a controversy within the country when students from Shenyang City started crafting their death notes.
In response, the school authorities decided to ban the use of such notebooks. While some criticized this action as an unnecessary measure, Chinese parents and teachers supported it. They asserted that the ban was essential for safeguarding innocent children from the clutches of this “evil notebook.
