A brand-new Mexican crime-drama series is in the making and is set to release on Netflix in 2025. The show is titled Gringo Hunters which is inspired by Kevin Sieff’s article in The Washington Post.
Gringo Hunters is penned by Jorge Dorantes while Natalia Beristain, Adrian Grunberg, Alonso Alvarez, and Jimena Montemayor share the directing duties. On the other hand, the show is backed by executive producers Brian Grazer, Lilly Burns, Ron Howard, Tony Hernandez, and Kristen Zolner.

According to Netflix, Gringo Hunters is being filmed in Mexico City and Baja California. The show draws inspiration from a real-life police unit featured in a Washington Post article by Kevin Sieff, showcasing the adventures of the elite Mexican team.
Starring Harold Torres, Manuel Masalva, Héctor Kotsifakis, Mayra Hermosillo, and Andrew Leland Rogers, the project began shooting on 6th May at Tijuana’s Municipal Palace. This location is just one of several chosen across Baja California for filming.
Previously, the show was shot at various iconic spots in Tijuana such as Estadio Chevron, Playas de Tijuana, Avenida Revolución, and Zona Río. Additionally, the crew has been to Ensenada in locations like the Ventana al Mar pier, the El Vigía mountain, and the city pier.
That being said, the show is currently in the production stage and is slated to release in 2025. As of now, Netflix hasn’t announced the official release date, so we will need to wait for future updates.
