Their products are made with locally sourced vegetables and contain no preservatives, additives, or artificial ingredients. The soups are designed to cater to a wide range of dietary needs, including vegan, gluten-free, and kosher options.

About The Founders
Soupergirl was founded by Sara Polon and her mother Marilyn Polon. Before setting up their company, Sara was into stand-up comedy. However, she quit her career to pursue her passion for healthy food. Inspired by her mother’s traditional recipes, Sara decided to start her own business that would promote healthy eating habits among people. This led her to team up with her mother, Marilyn as they started their business in 2008.
Soupergirl specialises in creating all-vegan soups with flavours like split pea rosemary soup, black bean sweet potato chilli, zucchini chickpea bisque, and others. At present, Sara and her mother have a team of 30 employees, who produce thousands of gallons of soup every week. The soups are made in small batches to maintain freshness and quality.
What Happened On Shark Tank?
Soupergirl appeared on Shark Tank Season 10 in 2018, seeking $500,000 for 10% equity in their business. To impress the Sharks, they brought samples of their soups. However, Kevin O’Leary said that their valuation was too high.
In response, the Polons shared that their company made $2.4 million in 2017 and expected to finish 2018 at $3.4 million. While the Sharks were impressed by these numbers, they were not happy to find that the profit margin was only 5%. Sara Polon explained this was because they had hit their production limit and needed to grow.
The Polons left the show without a deal. But after the show, guest Shark Matt Higgins called them and offered to become their business mentor and advisor.
Is The Brand Successful?
Despite not getting a deal on Shark Tank, Soupergirl is a successful brand today. Based on 2022 reports, the company has a net worth of $20 million.
Sara Polon said in an interview that the show had brought them immense popularity and recognition. It opened numerous opportunities, helping the brand to grow. In 2020, Soupergirl received a $2 million Series A investment from Arborview Capital. The year before, Soupergirl became the exclusive soup provider for 70 Lidl stores in the Mid-Atlantic region.
