Motorola Teases New Smartphone With Curved Display And Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC Chipset

Motorola is gearing up for the launch of its latest smartphone, teasing eager consumers with glimpses of what’s to come. The Lenovo-owned smartphone manufacturer has begun dropping hints about the specifications of its upcoming device, sparking anticipation among tech enthusiasts.

While the official launch date and device name remain undisclosed, Motorola has provided insights into what to expect from its latest creation. It hints at a mid-range offering similar to the rumoured Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.

In an array of social media posts on X (formerly Twitter), Motorola unveiled its new smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, typically found in mid-range handsets. This suggests that the new Motorola device will likely target the same market segment.

Additionally, the company teased features such as fast wireless or wired charging, hinted at by an image showing a rectangular object with a quick charging animation.

Other rumoured features of the phone include a 6.7-inch POLED display, a crisp 32MP front camera, and a robust 50MP rear camera. It’s speculated to boast IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with 256GB of storage space. The device is expected to be powered by a 5000mAh battery, complemented by fast 68W fast charging capabilities. Moreover, the phone may be available in an array of appealing colours, including Ballad Blue, Tidal Teal, and Peacock Pink.

Further adding to the intrigue, Motorola previously teased a smartphone with a curved display in a short video on X. The video displayed a smartphone with rounded edges on both sides of the screen, along with a glimpse of the rear panel featuring the iconic Motorola “batwing” logo. This teaser also confirmed the expected launch of a Motorola Edge series phone.

Adding to the excitement, Motorola announced a launch event scheduled for 3rd April, teasing a “fusion of intelligence and art.” While specifics regarding the devices to be unveiled remain undisclosed, the language used in the teaser aligns with previous hints dropped on social media.

It is also speculated that Motorola might introduce the Moto Edge 50 soon, with the teased smartphone potentially being the Motorola Edge 50 Pro or Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.

Considering the mid-range Snapdragon chipset teased by the company, the former variant is expected to debut soon, with further details likely to be revealed in the days leading up to the launch event. Motorola enthusiasts can expect more insights into the company’s next offering as the event draws near.
