Yahoo7 CEO To Become Seven West Media COO

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Seven West Media, Don Voelte, today announced the appointment of Rohan Lund as Group Chief Operating Officer.

Mr Lund is currently Chief Executive Officer of Yahoo!7.

Announcing Mr Lund’s appointment, Mr Voelte said: “We are delighted that Rohan has accepted the challenge of this new role at Seven West Media.

“Rohan brings unique management experience across media and communications and a reputation for driving change. He has led the successful development of Yahoo!7 and he will now lead Seven West Media’s evolution as we drive operational efficiencies across the group and pursue new content and revenue channels for all our businesses,” Mr Voelte said.

In this newly created role at Seven West Media, Mr Lund will lead the group executive team in driving change and creating new opportunities for the company’s development in digital media, complementing Seven West Media’s market-leading presence in broadcast television, newspapers and magazines and online through Seven West Media’s Yahoo!7 joint venture with Yahoo! Inc.

Mr Lund said “Scale in content and reach is becoming increasingly critical and Seven is the best placed media company in Australia to take advantage of the changing media environment. I feel privileged and energized by the incredible opportunities ahead as the group businesses work even closer together and the media model continues to evolve.”

Mr Lund has been CEO of Yahoo!7 for the past five years.

Prior to joining Yahoo!7, he was the Director of Strategy and Investments at the Seven Network. He joined Seven in 2004 following his role as Strategy Director at Singtel Optus.

Mr Lund takes up his new role at Seven West Media on 1 September 2012.
