MediaCorp, TBS To Explore E-Commerce TV In S'pore

Singapore – MediaCorp and TBS Television today signed an agreement to co-produce a weekly television show highlighting fashion trends in Tokyo and to jointly conduct a feasibility study of exploring television-based e-commerce opportunities in Singapore.
 
Last year, MediaCorp and TBS Television signed a bilateral agreement to collaborate in programme productions to events and the first co-production television drama was a single-episode, one-hour drama,  Mooncake,broadcast in December 2011.
 
MediaCorp Managing Director, TV Ms Lim Suat Jien says: “We developed good working relations with TBS on our first television drama co-production project last year and we are delighted to strengthen our collaboration with a weekly television show to target the trend-setter youths today. Beyond broadcasting, a strategic collaboration with TBS in the pursuit of business development would allow us to incorporate e-commerce trials in a television show that can be exported to the region.”
 
Senior Managing Director of TBS Holdings Inc. Mr Shinji Takeda, commented, “The key to success in new business ventures overseas is trust and collaboration with a local partner. We look forward to teaming up with MediaCorp to undertake various new challenges together.”
 
The weekly television show will be broadcast every Thursday from 18 October, 9pm on Channel U.
