Adil Zaim, CEO of Carat China, announced today the appointment of Clay Schouest as Strategy and Innovation Director of Carat China. This appointment is effective immediately, and Clay will be based in Shanghai.
Schouest will lead the newly created Strategy and Innovation unit that will serve as Carat’s product offering covering strategic planning, insights and analytics. The new unit will also help support the other Aegis brands.
Adil Zaim said, “Clay brings with him a vast experience and expertise in strategy, communications planning and innovation that help transform our product resources to deliver the ‘Redefining Media’ positioning.”
With a proven track record of over 10 years, Clay’s background is diverse, having started his career at McCann Erickson Worldgroup New York working on Coca-Cola, which also took him to Turkey. He also worked as part of the Global Mindshare Unilever Team based in London where he helped set up their Business Planning unit and was also acting client lead for Dove and Lipton. In 2010 he moved to Aegis Global and joined the Communication Planning Department servicing Johnson & Johnson across EMEA and Mattel and Diageo globally. He has won and contributed to numerous awards ranging from the IPA ROI Advertising Effectiveness Award, the David Ogilvy RAF Award and also has several Effie Awards to his credit.
Clay said, “I’m thrilled with the appointment. In his role, Clay will report directly to Adil Zaim across all business units and will play a key role in continuing to fortify Carat’s service offer to existing clients, as well as driving new business growth.
